The role of the Inspector is to complete in-store inspections and audits per guidelines and predetermined requirements. Using a handheld device, the Inspector will record the conditions of assigned stores using proprietary store survey software.

Inspectors are responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of assigned tasks. The Inspector is responsible for travel to and the inspection of retail venues as part of national retail program(s). The appropriate candidate will be trained on the store survey software upon hiring.

Overnight travel is extensive (Monday-Friday); however, Inspectors are typically home on the weekends.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct a wide variety of detail-oriented, multi-day surveys of large retail environments using survey software on a handheld device.

Validate existing as-built plans by taking measurements, reviewing fixture types, and updating store maps. Compile accurate information for store planners to create current as-built AutoCAD floor plans.

Identify damaged and safety related issues with items such as signage, fixtures, racking, displays, and/or accessories.

Capture SKU information by scanning barcodes and taking photos.

Flexible to work any shift to accommodate scheduled due dates.
Read and follow installation guides and fixture manuals.

Follow written, oral, and diagrammed survey instruction.
Maintain a positive attitude with self-respect and respect for

Communicate daily with Merchandising Field Supervisors to provide daily field updates.


HS diploma or equivalent.

Job Function Requirements:

Valid Driver’s License

Ability to travel by airplane and car and complete overnight hotel stays.

Computer Proficiency and Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Ability to use a handheld device such as a tablet and mobile phone

1-2 years of experience conducting site surveys, project walk-throughs, and/or quality inspections is required.
Experience in a retail setting is not required but is a plus.
