The Department of Animation and Production at DigiPen Institute of Technology invites applicants for the position of Adjunct Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the areas of animation and game/film production, to help teach the next generation of game or film artists. Join our faculty team and help students develop the necessary skills to succeed in the field of Game or Film Animation.

Candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for appointment at the rank of Adjunct Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor

Start date: On or before January 6, 2020

End date: On or before April 30, 2020

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach introductory and upper division course in any of the following areas of specialization:
CG Animation using Maya
Traditional (2D) Animation
Cinematography/Film making
Game and/or Film Production
Lecture and teach in a classroom setting as per assignment schedule - evening classes available
Demonstrate animation, film, and/or production techniques/processes
Provide creative direction and criticism to students.
Grade and input assignment data on a weekly basis
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in art or media related field
4 years of professional experience animating in the role of Animator for games or cinema; or 4 years of professional film-making experience
A reel/portfolio showing animation and art skills, both digital and traditional, or Film-making skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

MFA degree in art or media related field
Strong grounding in traditional art fundamentals such as gesture drawing, color, and composition, as well as time based media fundamentals
Instructor experience in a college setting, or other teaching experience.
